Stretch FFS

Bonnie Costa

Hi! My name is Bonnie Costa and I have been a group fitness junky since 2008. Freestyle step is
where my addiction to motivating and encouraging people to work hard and get physical results
began. I am a creative person and enjoy sharing my love for group fitness in an original way. I spend
a lot of time creating routines and seeking out new, fresh music to keep my clients motivated and
coming back for more! Currently, kickboxing is where I am allowed to let loose with routines on the
bag! I have been certified in MOSSA Group Power since 2009. Words could never begin to express how
this program has changed my life for the better. It is empowering and fun, but also physically challenging and rewarding. Power gives RESULTS. I couldn’t have dreamed of the strength that I have today, or the witnessing of members getting stronger alongside me. For me, playing a part in the physical and mental health of others is something I consider a gift. In 2009, during Nursing School in Boston, I began taking cycle classes. I fell in love- the music, the energy, the endorphins, all of it. I decided to become certified shortly after and began teaching immediately at various gyms across the city. I have a different love for each class style that I teach, but equal passion for them all! Being a Registered Nurse at Falmouth Hospital for the past 10 years, and now a Family Nurse
Practitioner, I am constantly reminded of the luxury and importance of good health, including mental and physical strength, endurance, and the building of bone density. If you are on this site, you have the lungs and the body, no matter what size, to Get Fit. Come see us and get hooked on getting fit!

Stretch FFS: Stretching for function, flexibility, and strength is so important, yet something we often neglect
to do on a day-to-day basis. This 45 minute class will be a gentle flow of stretching from start to finish,
moving through all of the main muscle groups of the body, but also paying attention to the smaller
muscles of our hands and feet. Hopefully, we can all learn and take something from this class and bring
pieces of it into our daily routine. Improved flexibility, stamina, muscular strength, improvement of
aches and pains, reduced muscle soreness, improved joint mobility and range of motion, more efficient
movement, prevention of lower back pain, greater ability to exert force through a larger range of
motion, and maintenance of blood glucose are all evidence-based benefits of stretching. All activities will benefit from learning to stretch your body
appropriately. Whether it is golf, tennis, pickleball, or one of our other great classes here at Get Fit, this
class will provide both relief to your body, and efficiency to your routine.
